Taking the Rails Plunge

One name that just keeps coming up lately is “Ruby on Rails”. I actually heard about this web technology months ago from a good friend of mine so I hopped on, downloaded the package and installed it on my Powerbook G4. It installed easily but I stalled in actually using it…life got busy so what usually happens happened - I put aside pet projects in favor of paying or urgent projects.
So…now that life is at max PLUS speed, why not add one more thing to my daily list of things to look at?! I’m exaggerating a little but I’m actually pretty excited to roll up my sleeves and see what this development platform has to offer. Web 2.0 is getting hard to ignore and the rule in web design is to make sure to keep ones still toned and current.
I’ll be working on a fresh install, configuration and I just purchased the new eBook. I’ll be passing along a running story as I go through this learning process.

Oh, and for any previous visitors to this site - you may have noticed a COMPLETELY new look. I switched to a K2 skin and I love the cleanness of this one. In fact, I’m going to be switching all my blogs to this skin with some customizations that I’ll be working on to make it unique to myself.
Answer the poll at the right - I’m curious as to how many of you have heard/use Ruby.
