Firefox 2.0 Released!
Hurray! For all my Firefox friends out there (if you aren’t one currently - you should really give it a try…all the cool people are Firefox users).
The day has come - Firefox 2.0 is now available for download. Oh, and the price tag? Free. Did I mention that it’s free…as in $0.
If you are still using Internet Explorer, STOP IT! Don’t make me come over and point my accusatorial finger at you. Click here for the latest release that includes some great improvements including better management of RSS feeds, a counter to the evil website phishing that is all-too prevalent (a genius move on Firefox’s part and a huge step forward for online browsing safety) and lots more. This is an improvement on an already-great web browser further making it THE browser of choice…
…PERIOD.

More Reasons to Blog
Blogging is becoming less and less of a fad and more and more of an almost necessity as people’s expectations change with the changing media around us. I’ve enjoyed the various articles that my friend over at Microexplosion has posted on his blog and the latest one is another example of the reason TO blog using a real-life example.
Here’s an exerpt. [ click here to read the full article ]
I’m more convinced than ever that a blog is for every organization in some form or fashion. Just yesterday I was talking to a friend who’s a pediatric dentist. I was telling her that a blog will allow her to differentiate her practice from the others here in town. Whereas the other guys will give the standard “here’s what we do” and “here’s why we’re different” and “here’s where we’re located” information, a blog can say all of those things with personality. In fact, that’s exactly what sets blogs apart from standard websites…they have personality… [ click to read more ]
What does it mean for non-profits? As Bill Seaver addresses on his blog, it’s about differentiation - setting yourself apart and giving your organization some personality. Of course, one of the caveats of this is that it requires you to have some decent writing abilities but don’t let that stop you. There’s plenty of ghost-writers out there or good editors that can polish up your message so you can truly communicate your heart and your passion.
There are some great blog tools out there which are FREE. If you don’t know where to start, give me a holler and I’ll point you in the right direction.

A White-Balancing Tool On My Wish List
For the typical web developer, as I’ve stated earlier - we’re often doing way more than just sitting at a desk coding. For me, as well as video work - I’m also doing a lot of work in Photoshop to make the web graphics have the pop of professional photography.
One of the biggest tasks when doing photo editing is level adjustment which is often the result of not having proper white-balance on the original shot.
I discovered this new tool watching the latest episode of Photoshop TV called ExpoDisc and it’s now on my “must-have” list. Looking at their website - their lenses work for both digital cameras and DV Cameras (video). This is a simple tool that makes it easy to set the proper white balance BEFORE you shoot your image or record your video. Sa-weet! Sweet enough to blog about.
So, if you’re serious about your photography and videography - this tool is a must have. Click here for the ExpoDisc company website.
